AltioLive 5.2 full details:

The new designer specific features include:

  • A Look and Feel that provides a modern Web 2.0 IDE.
  • Controls and Custom Controls are now managed through an accordion toolbar.
  • Color Picker has a new look and provides a greater number of available colours to choose from.
  • New Skins have been provided to enable applications to be created with a more modern look and feel, including gradient colours, shadows and transparency.

There are some new controls:

Accordion toolbar

  • AltioGraph provides a mechanism to visualise relationships in data and to interact through drill down with the data.
  • Container Control enables multiple controls to be grouped together in a single container for easier manipulation, for example enabling or disabling all controls by setting a property of the container.
  • Composite Controls provide a simple mechanism to create re-usable components that can be used across multiple applications. These controls can be packaged and shipped just like Custom Controls but the Composite Control uses standard AltioLive controls as well as Custom Controls.
  • Layout Panel is a data aware control container that can be used to generate a grid of controls that flow across a screen, it is not restricted to a single control type and multiple controls/data sources can be used. An example use would be to use the control to provide an Outlook calendar control, where information for each date needs to be displayed.
  • Accordion Control provides the ability to collapse and expand areas of a screen.
  • Splitter Panel provides the ability to separate screen areas into resizable areas.
  • Altio Scripting Interface provides a mechanism to interact with Java 1.6 or later JVM scripting engine. This allows objects within AltioLive applications to be manipulated using JavaScript, JavaFX etc.
  • Reflective Image provides a new image control that shows a reflection of its contents.
  • Round Button provides a more visually appealing alternative to the standard grey buttons, with rounded edges and gradient shading.
  • Toggle Button provides an alternative to the checkbox provide a visual on/off effect.

Also, there are changes to other controls:

  • Tab Panels are now data aware enabling the dynamic generation of a tab for each instance of a xml data element associated with the tab.
